I am a firm believer in educating yourself. With the internet so easily accessible you can instantly get the information you need.
You can read, strategise, then put your plan into action.
This is not to say that you need to do everything yourself. Educating yourself allows you to understand and strategise your next steps, but if necessary employ a professional or assistant to carry it out.
It’s the old saying – ‘Working on your business not in it!’
A contractor doesn’t build or renovate your house personally. They orchestrate it. They pull in sub-contractors like bricklayers, plumbers, electricians, plasterers to build your house. But they need to know how to build your house and when to pull in sub-contractors.
If I want to know something, I will learn it. That’s not to say I’ll be an expert at it, but I will get a good understanding to be able to decide if it’s useful to me or not.
My journey to becoming a freelancer and starting passive income streams has involved a lot of reading. I read blogs, books and subscribe to podcasts and newsletters. I have also invested in tools and tons of courses – (confession – I am a serial course taker – but that’s for a different day)
